Worker dies in Houston Ship Channel crane accident

A man was killed after a crane ran over him and severed his legs in an accident at the Houston Ship Channel on Tuesday night.

The man, whose name was not released, was working at Barbour’s Cut Terminal when he got stuck beneath a crane as it began to move.

When the crane hit him, his legs were severed, reported television station KRIV FOX 26.   

He was taken to Bayshore Hospital in Pasadena and died later.

The accident occurred at 8:15 p.m., said Joe Trevino, vice president of the International Longshoremen's Association.
