A tugboat, crewboat and barge ran aground in the sand near the Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek, Va. on the night of Thursday, Sept. 15.
The vessel Cape Charles contacted Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads at 11:45 p.m. to report it was grounding along with the tugboat Ranger and Skanska-owned barge 1208.
The vessels were refloated by the company and towed into Little Creek inlet. No injuries or pollution were reported.
The Coast Guard is investigating the cause of the grounding.
