Terrifying Hollywood Florida Boat Accident Prompts Frantic Rescue Effort

The Miami Herald is reporting on a frightening Hollywood, FL boating accident. According to local reports, a man crashed his boat headfirst into a seawall early Monday morning and got trapped inside when his boat began sinking. The accident happened around 1:40 in the morning near Hallandale Beach.

A woman who had been in the boat was ejected, when it hit the wall. After she sought help, more drama unfolded. The Herald reports: “It was a frantic situation as Hollywood Fire & Rescue pumped water from the boat to prevent it from being submerged and drowning the man. Rescue crews resorted to power tools, freeing the man from the boat using chainsaws.” The man was reported to be in critical condition, recovering at Memorial Regional Hospital. The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation has launched an investigation.
