On Saturday, a horrific boating accident rocked San Dimas, California, when a jet ski careened into a power boat in the middle of Puddingstone Lake in Bonelli Regional Park. According to a local Fox News report, three women died at the scene of the accident. KABC-TV later reported that the women were all "members of the same family." Three men were injured critically and evacuated to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center for emergency treatment. Another boater, a 22-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries after being ejected from the boat.
The Chief Lifeguard for Los Angeles County, Hugo Maldonado, told this to KTLA-TV News: "at this point, there is nothing to indicate there was alcohol [as a possible factor in the boating crash], but that could change later." Authorities are still trying to piece together what exactly happened to cause the Sea-Doo to crash into the powerboat.
