A Panamanian flagged vessel was held at anchor in Puget Sound after the master was allegedly found to be drunk.
During a routine boarding of the 587-foot STX Daisy in the Strait of Juan de Fuca on the morning of April 14, the Coast Guard reportedly noticed that the captain appeared to be intoxicated.
The vessel was departing Olympia, Washington en route to Qindao, China on a timber run but was detained by the Coast Guard.
The U.S. Attorney’s office is looking into possible U.S. legal violations.
