Services held for 20-year-old victim of Gulf oil rig accident

Posted on Aug 22, 2011

Brandon Michael Noland

A memorial service was scheduled to be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011 at Kingsland Baptist Church in Katy, Texas for Brandon Michael Noland.

Noland, 20, of Katy, was killed on Tues. Aug. 16, 2011 in an offshore accident when a crane collapsed on a platform in the Gulf about 75 miles south of Port Arthur, Texas.

From the Katy Times:

"He was a 2009 graduate of Seven Lakes High School, where he played football. Brandon enjoyed playing sports and hanging out with his family and friends. He had a smile that would light up a room, and everyone that knew him loved him deeply. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his mother, Neshia Lynn Noland; stepfather, Jahan Ghahremanzadeh; brother, Blake Noland; grandmother, Sharon Noland; father, Johnny Johnson; sister, Genesis Johnson; brother, Joshua Johnson; sister, Alyssa Johnson; grandmother, Mary Phillips; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that are too many to list. He is also survived by his soul mate and love of his life, PJ Salvo.

He was preceded in death by grandfather, "Red" Noland."

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to the Covenant House, P.O. Box 731, New York, New York 10108-0900.
