Person taken to hospital after crane accident at VA pier

The Coast Guard is investigating the cause of a newly delivered port crane that was damaged in Portsmouth, VA last week.

One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after the incident in which one crane was hit by another at APM Terminals on Monday, Feb. 14. The damaged crane was one of two new cranes and had just been delivered when it was clipped by a different crane on the very ship that brought it over from China when the vessel was leaving the dock.

The damaged crane was described as twisted.
