The Mexican Navy has found a body in the Gulf of Campeche which is believed to be that of a missing Australian man who evacuated from a liftboat in Tropical Storm Nate.

Though the identity is yet to be confirmed, the body was recovered in the area where authorities had been searching for Aaron Howling, 33, from Queensland.

He and nine other workers evacuated the liftboat Trinity II by life raft on the afternoon of Sept. 8 after the vessel was disabled in the storm eight miles off the Mexican coast.

Seven survivors were rescued Sunday about 80 kilometers from the coast of the state of Campeche. One of them died in the hospital and the bodies of two other persons, both Americans, were recovered in the water.

Geokinetics of Houston owned the liftboat. The company conducts seismic research for the oil and gas industry.
