Hurrricane Irene Alert: USCG orders all vessels over 300 tons to leave Port of New York

The  U.S.C.G. Captain of the Port has ordered all vessels over 300 gross tons to depart the Port of New York and New Jersey in advance of Hurricane Irene.

Hurricane Condition XRAY has been set.

Commercial deep draft vessels must not be alongside a pier after 1800 hours on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011.

Vessels must be clear from Bay Ridge, Stapleton and Gravesend Bay Anchorage Grounds no later than 1800 Saturday, 2011.

Only one barge per commercial mooring buoy, with a tug in the vicinity, shall be allowed after 1800 Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011.
