Now that the well’s cap has held for two weeks over the Gulf gusher, fishermen who’ve lost their livelihoods are afraid BP will pull the plug on their clean up work. As the amount of surface oil appears to have diminished, many are scared that BP will scale back or bring an end to the Vessels of Opportunity program which uses over 1,500 boats in boom laying and skimming work. For many displaced fishermen, this has been their sole means of support during the crisis.
