Crew saved after fishing boat runs aground

Posted on Feb 13, 2011

Five crewmen were hoisted to safety by a Coast Guard helicopter after their fishing vessel ran aground off of the Aleutian Islands. The 58-foot longline fishing boat F/V Terrigail hit the rocks after losing power in 10 foot seas and 50 mile-per-hour winds near Dutch Harbor, Alaska on Feb. 8th. The Coast Guard Cutter Morgenthau failed to hook a tow line onto the boat. It was unknown if there were any injuries or what caused the power failure.
