The master and chief engineer of a tanker bound for Houston were killed by a wave about 800 miles from Bermuda. The Greek-flagged Aegean Angel was carrying a load of fuel oil from Estonia. Force eight winds hammered the ship. It is believed the crew members went out on deck to inspect potential storm damage when they were violently thrown about by the huge wave, the Bermuda Police reports. The 47-year-old captain and 33-year-old chief died. A 34-year-old deputy captain suffered severe head injuries; he is expected to receive medical attention when the ship reaches Bermuda Monday morning, when new crewmembers will join the ship on its continuing voyage. The same storm affected another ship, the ER Brighton, where one crew member sustained a severe cut to his arm during cargo securing operations.
