Resources for Transocean Rig Explosion Victims

The Transocean rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico will go down as one of the most tragic offshore accidents in decades. As cleanup crews continue to attack the oil spill caused by the sunken rig, families have been left wondering the fates of their missing loved ones.

On the evening of Tuesday, April 20, 2010, an explosion occurred on the semisubmersible rig, Deepwater Horizon, which is owned by Transocean, Ltd. While the workers aboard the Deepwater Horizon were trained to handle emergencies, it’s hard to imagine that an event of that magnitude could actually happen. Of the 126 people on the rig that night, 115 were able to make it to safety, but 11 were unaccounted for.

For the past week and a half, we have been closely monitoring this devastating offshore accident and have written a multitude of blog posts, articles and news updates. Below is a summary of the information we were able to gather since the event. Simply click on the headlines to read more about the topic.
