Who is responsible for a slip and fall on a vessels deck?

A: Vessel decks are bound to become wet; that issue is generally unavoidable. However, steps can usually be taken to reduce the risk of a fall accident.

Vessel owners can take preventative measures to avoid slip and falls, such as installing non-skid material, properly maintaining the vessel and adequately training the crew. When a vessel owner is negligent or if the vessel is unseaworthy, you may be able to take legal action. That means you may be able to hold the vessel owner liable, allowing you to pursue compensation for your injuries.
