Wedding party boat accident fatality is another case of no life jackets

The Coast Guard says that 90 percent of all persons who are killed in boating accidents were not wearing a life jacket.

Yet boaters continue to ignore the numbers and ignore their life jackets.

Some of those boaters who did not wear life jackets were to be part of a Wisconsin wedding that never took place last weekend.

The groom to be was seriously injured, his three groomsmen (including his brother) were killed, and a speedboat operator died in a collision of two boats on a Wisconsin river on the evening of July 22.

The Associated Press story of the accident referenced the failure of any of the parties involved to wear a life jacket only in the last line of the report.
