We can help Mississippi offshore electrocution victims

On January 7, 2009, a young third mate who had graduated from merchant marine academy less than two years earlier was electrocuted aboard a chemical tanker in the Gulf of Mexico.

Christopher Erikson, 24, was assisting the first engineer with the installation of a new circuit breaker on the S/R Wilmington when a 480 volt electrical charge killed him.

Though electrocution is not generally thought of as a major risk on a ship, the dangers of it to Mississippi mariners are very real. Some of the causes include shoddy wiring, lack of maintenance and defective equipment.

If you have been seriously injured in an electrical accident or lost a loved one to electrocution, you may be entitled to monetary damages for loss of past and future income, punitive damages, pain and suffering and medical bills.
