A crewmember was medevaced from a containership off of Alaska after a finger on his left hand was severed in an accident, the Coast Guard said in a press release.
The crew of the Antigua and Barbuda flagged ship Mare Phoenicium placed a distress call Thursday afternoon. Air Station Kodiak deployed an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter to the 865-foot vessel and airlifted the 62-year-old Montenegrin crewmember. He was transported to Anchorage for medical treatment.
