Seaman sues employer for slick deck in slip and fall case

A seaman has filed suit against his employer over improper cleaning chemicals he claims made the deck slick and dangerous.

Guillermo Camarillo filed the lawsuit Feb. 24 against Aramark Corp. in the Southern District of Texas federal court. Camarillo maintains that he and a co-worker were ordered to clean the galley deck of the Seahawk 3,000 last April 5 with the chemicals in question, resulting a fall that caused injuries to his head, neck, back and other areas of his body, the complaint states.

Moreover, Camarillo contends that his co-worker was able to leave the work site, thus leaving him to continue his work alone.
