Seaman injured while pulling cable

AET Offshore Services is being sued by a worker who suffered multiple injuries pulling a cable out of the water.

Daniel Laxson injured his shoulder, back, neck and arm from pulling the cable while aiding the vessel AET Explorer on June 28, his lawsuit states.

He alleges the defendant maintained an unseaworthy vessel, failed to provide adequate safety equipment and negligently failed to properly supervise he and the crew.

The plaintiff asks damages for past and future medical expenses, disfigurement, pain, impairment, mental anguish, lost wages and court costs.

The case was filed July 8 in Jefferson County, Texas District Court.
