Palestine Lake Accident Drowns A Man And Injures His Wife

On Monday, in Lake Palestine, a boating accident drowned a man, leaving his wife injured.

It all happened on Monday afternoon when fisherman Paul Dowdy and his girlfriend noticed a small boat sticking out of the water. Dowdy says that they saw 55-year-old Barbara Cooper, waving for help.

Upon going to her rescue, they soon noticed her husband, 58-year-old Floyd Cooper, floating nearby. Firefighters responded soon after.

Barbara Cooper is currently in the hospital for hypothermia. An autopsy is ordered for Floyd.

When out on the water, safety is the most important thing one should consider, above everything. It is currently unknown if their equipment was working or which kind of boat they were on, however accidents happen every day and you must make sure it doesn’t happen to you.
