Pair of offshore injury lawsuits filed involving injuries from stairwell falls

Two offshore workers suffering injuries from stairwell falls on different vessels filed lawsuits in New Orleans federal court within the past two weeks.

On June 29, Jerry LeBlue sued Tako Towing Inc. for injuries allegedly suffered after tripping on a loose tile while going down a stairwell aboard the M/V Tako Spirit. The defendant is charged with failing to take proper safety precautions when the vessel was undergoing renovations.

On July 11, Jerald Johnson filed a lawsuit for over $1 million against ENI US Operating Co. Inc. after allegedly falling from an exterior stairwell while working aboard the "Devil's Tower" spar.
