Offshore worker sues after bedroom lockers fall on top of her

While cleaning the bedrooms on a barge on Mar. 31, 2010, Lisa D. Hebert reportedly suffered a serious injury when bedroom lockers toppled onto her.

She filed suit against Swiftships Shipbuilders and Barges Unlimited Inc., the barge's owner. The suit claims the owner did not exercise reasonable ordinary care in providing her with a safe working environment, failed to properly secure the lockers to keep them from falling, and failed to warn of hidden dangers.

Hebert seeks compensation for mental and physical pain and suffering, loss of wages and earnings capacity, medical expenses, loss of enjoyment of life, court costs and interest.

The case was filed in New Orleans federal court.
