Mississippi seaman files suit for head and neck injuries

A mariner has filed a Jones Act case against employer Ensco Offshore Co. Travis Dion Chambliss of Hattiesburg, Mississippi alleges that on May 27, 2010, a pallet that was being lifted on board the Ensco 82 fell onto him, causing head and neck injuries. The Southeast Texas Record reported that his lawsuit states the vessel was unseaworthy and the defendants were negligent. Chambliss also claims he suffered mental anguish, loss of wages and is asking for over $75,000.
