Mississippi offshore workers: were you exposed to drilling mud asbestos?

Many people don't know this, but frequently asbestos was added to offshore drilling mud from the mid-1960s until as recently as 1989. In fact, just last year, a 71-year-old oil industry worker was awarded $15 million by a Mississippi jury. In that case, plaintiff Troy Lofton testified with tubes running out of his mouth and ears while hooked up to an oxygen tank he was required to breath out of 24 hours a day. He contracted asbestosis after handling product bags with 99 percent asbestos for years and claimed Conoco Phillips knowingly manufactured a dangerous product. Lofton was just one of the many offshore oil workers who contracted asbestos-related diseases such as asbestos mesothelioma.

Even if you were exposed to asbestos in the offshore sector years ago, the manufacturers and oil companies who put you at risk may still be liable.

If you believe you may have been exposed to drilling mud asbestos, contact an experienced offshore attorney at once for an honest evaluation.
