A Mississippi boating accident involving a cargo ship and a fishing boat leaves three people missing after the two vessels collide off the Mississippi Coast. The incident took place at approximately 9:00 on Wednesday evening, May 18, 2011, near the edge of the Mississippi Sound channel.

Thirteen men from the Omega Protein-owned Sandy Point were rescued. They suffered bumps and bruises and were reported as being in good condition. Unfortunately, three victims went missing.

The cargo ship was carrying cargo under charter for Chiquita.
