Jones Act case filed against Hercules Offshore

Houston based Hercules Offshore has been charged with negligence in a Jones Act suit filed by Ora Lynette Phillips.

Phillips, who filed her suit in Jefferson County, Texas on September 30, claims she suffered the injuries while working on the vessel M/V Hercules 205. According to the suit, the company allegedly failed to provide her with a safe workplace and the vessel was unseaworthy.

Phillips seeks damages for past and future mental pain and suffering, medical expenses, lost wages and court costs.

Details were not provided of the extent of her injuries in the case filing.
