Our firm has extensive experience representing workers hurt on Hercules Offshore rigs.  In one such case earlier this year, we filed a Jones Act and maritime injury lawsuit against them on behalf of an injured crewmember.  He had worked for the company over 13 years in a variety of positions: roustabout, roughneck and derrickhand.

He was not injured once, but twice. The first time, he was sent to company doctors and then came back to work in five months. His reward? A demotion.

After being hurt a second time, Hercules fired him, calling the move a “reduction in force.” Beyond that, they did not honor their obligation to pay his medical bills and living expenses and we were forced to file a legal claim against them under the Jones Act.
