Houston maritime lawyer sought out by media on Gulf platform disaster

Maritime attorney Brian Beckcom of Houston has been interviewed by numerous major news outlets seeking his expertise in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion.

On Friday the Associated Press interviewed him. He also spoke with the Wall Street Journal.

Though Beckcom, of the firm Vujasinovic and Beckcom, deals with maritime law in general, the offshore oil industry is one of his specialties. He also has a direct connection to this case, having dealt first hand with Transocean Ltd., owner of the Deepwater Horizon. He has represented several Transocean workers in the past, including a young person on a platform that exploded six years ago that killed one person and injured several others off of Galveston.
