Hercules Liftboat named as defendant in jack-up rig accident

A worker aboard a jack-up vessel alleging he was hurt on the job filed suit against the owner/operator, Hercules Liftboat Company, LLC.

Tim Holt suffered undisclosed injuries in the Gulf of Mexico after falling on the M/V GAAR while cleaning hydraulic fluid that had sprayed on the deck, according to the plaintiff. Co-defendant Contango Oil & Gas Company contends that the fluid spilled from a return line on the platform crane.

The case was assigned to U.S. District Court, Western District of Louisiana.
