Gangway platform collapse results in injury lawsuit

A marine inspector/surveyor has filed a lawsuit for serious injuries he claims resulted from a gangway platform that collapsed because of careless, unskilled and untrained workers.

Robert Creel alleges the incident occurred aboard the M/V Admirar Vista. The type of injuries was not disclosed.

The suit was filed in New Orleans federal court against Admirar Vista Shipping, Britannia Steam Ship Insurance Association Ltd. and the vessel. They are accused of failure to warn Creel of dangerous and unsafe conditions, negligence for failure to provide a safe working place and hiring unskilled and untrained employees, among numerous other accusations.
