Florida seafarer sued Hercules Offshore, Taylors Int’l Svcs for knee injury

Hercules Offshore and Taylors International Services were named in a lawsuit by a Florida man who alleged he injured his right knee on a jack-up rig. Though the extent of the injury was not disclosed, plaintiff William Weaver of Panama City claimed the knee required surgery. The accident reportedly took place on Hercules 253 which is a drilling rig that was anchored off of Galveston Island. The defendants stood accused of providing inadequate training, equipment, supervision and crew. The case was filed Aug. 11 in Galveston County.
