Back injury victims too often ignore their trauma until the symptoms become acute. By then, a problem which could have been corrected with earlier treatment has become a disabling injury. The condition is frequently ignored because of the “slow and progressive onset of this internal injury,”
said the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. This means that back problems can develop gradually and can lull victims into not dealing with them in a timely manner. Though a “single well-defined incident” may be the technical cause of the trauma, the real culprit may be the gradual weakening of the musculoskeletal support system as part of the natural again process which compounds the original injury.
Keep this in mind if the company wants to trade your right to seek adequate compensation in exchange for a quick settlement.
