Did Deepwater Horizon drill into a mine field?

Don’t laugh at the title of this posting, a web site is reporting that over 30 million pounds of bombs, chemical ordnance and projectiles are scattered on the seabed of the Gulf of Mexico, which is a major disposal site for unexploded military ordnance. Because record keeping is shoddy it is impossible to know exactly where these disposal sites are located. The story says that it is not known if companies drilling offshore leases are required to map out underwater unexploded ordnances.
