We can confirm (again) that BP is likely angling to place blame for the Deepwater Horizon explosion on Transocean employees, and in particular the supervisory personnel assigned to the rig.
In prepared remarks to a congressional committee, BP America Chairman Lamar McKay is stating that Transocean was responsible for the safe operation of the Deepwater Horizon.
When you really think it, this can probably only mean one thing. BP is going to blame the Transocean crewmembers and supervisory personnel who were aboard the Deepwater Horizon for making bad decision and causing the rig explosion.
It is clear that BP is taking steps (and has been for weeks) to prepare its legal defense and shift the blame to Transocean crewmembers.
We are urging Transocean crewmembers to protect themselves and their legal rights immediately so their story is told and they don't get all the blame for this terrible tragedy. We are currently taking steps right now to protect our clients from BP's anticipated finger pointing.
