Another injured oil cleanup worker files suit

Earlier we reported on a recently filed lawsuit by a seaman who shattered his knee after falling on a barge deck while working in the Gulf oil spill cleanup

Another oil cleanup worker recently filed a suit of his own after suffering serious injuries from a boat collision.

Tyrone Walton, plaintiff, filed a $2 million case against defendant ES & H Inc. in New Orleans federal court on July 27.

According to court documents, on July 28, 2010, Walton was on the M/V Miss Katelyn which was being used in the oil cleanup. The vessel was docked near Grand Isle, La. when a skiff collided with it. He allegedly was knocked to the deck which caused severe spinal and lower back injuries.

The defendant is accused of failing to provide competent boat operators, failing to provide a safe and seaworthy vessel and failing to supervise and train its boat operators.

Walton seeks compensation for pain and suffering, loss of earnings, loss of earning capacity, loss of enjoyment of life and permanent disability.
