Alcohol is a factor in approximately 25-percent of all motor boat related fatalities, according to the State of California Department of Boating and Waterways. The victims fell overboard and drowned in 66% of all alcohol related deaths, the agency reported. Legally drunk passengers contributed to, or were the victims of, 41% of the deadly accidents.
