Alaska skipper charged with BUI

The Coast Guard and pollution responders rushed to the scene after a boat hit a pile in the Anchorage, Alaska small boat harbor. The 53-foot boat was carrying 200 gallons of diesel fuel and continued on into the loading ramp. At last report no pollution was spotted. The vessel suffered minor damage.

The Coast Guard suspected the skipper was intoxicated and contacted police. He reportedly failed a standard sobriety test, then was administered a breathalyzer test and reportedly registered over one-and-a-half times the legal alcohol limit. He was arrested and charged with boating under the influence.
