Alabama BP spill victims still awaiting financial help

It has been almost one year since the BP Gulf oil spill started and yet many Alabama workers have not received compensation. Many have families to support and must rely on loans from relatives and friends, says a spokesman for a legal-aid group representing workers and business owners suffering from the disaster. Some are even living in their cars with their children. The Gulf Coast Claims Facility (GCCF) is in charge of administering the payments from BP. Many claimants say the allocation system is slow, arbitrary and unfair; some have not received a cent while others working in the same capacities and at the same wages have already been paid. The 90 day processing time has been missed by weeks in many cases.
