A cruise line passenger advocacy website reports that there were 17 officially recorded deaths aboard cruise ships in 2010.
Cruise Bruise.com lists one by hanging, one by overdose, one by illness, one overboard, one by gangplank failure, one by food and 11 others categorized generically as “death aboard.”
The fatalities were reported among the following companies:
Carnival Cruise Lines: 11 deaths, MSC Cruises: 2, Princess Cruises: 1, Norwegian Cruise Line: 1, Star Cruises: 1, Royal Caribbean: 1.
